I agree that this would be of a significant advantage from a quick deployment and distribution point of view ..
Being able to quickly install and update many apps (often with one very short command line) should be considered essential tooling to everyone that considers themselves power users .. well, in an ideal world ..
But with Freeter not being opensource, I clearly understand the licensing challenges for Freeter, and can understand if they never put any priority on it.
